Lexel implements power generator upgrade
Auckland, 24th September 2012
Lexel recently implemented a brand new power generator for its datacentre and head office based in Albany, Auckland.
Lexel CEO Noel Simpson says, “The old generator was ageing and couldn’t meet the needs of the planned datacenter expansion, or the need to strengthen the availability of our service desk and managed services capabilities. The new generator protects not only the datacentre, but the entire building. This building wide robustness provides a differentiator for Lexel in the market and provides us with confidence that we can continue delivering service excellence during a power outage.”
The generator is fully automatic, and has been specified to cope with predicted growth and extended outages. The project total cost was quoted as six figures. This follows upgrades to Lexel’s datacentre last year where Lexel introduced redundancy for its datacentre cooling systems, and triple telco fibre was installed for network resilience.
