Non-profit price increase
Microsoft have announced a price increase to five Microsoft 365 non-profit subscriptions from 1 September 2022 (a similar increase was applied to the commercial pricelist in March 2022):
- Office 365 E1, E3, E5
- Microsoft 365 E3, Business Premium

SQL Server 2012 End of Support
SQL Server 2012 reached end of support on 12 July 2022 at which point security patches will cease being issued. To avoid security breaches the options are:
- Upgrade to SQL 2019 (or 2016)
- Purchase Extended Security Updates (Enterprise Agreement customers only)
- Move VM to Azure – free security patches

SQL Server 2022
Microsoft have released the public preview of SQL Server 2022 – you can download a trial of it from the blog link below.
They describe this version as “the most Azure-enabled release of SQL Server yet, with continued innovation across performance, security, and availability.”
There are no expected licensing changes.
New Per-socket licenses no longer available and price increase
New Veeam Per-socket licenses are no longer available from 1 July 2022. Renewals and subscriptions are available – ask us for a migration quote.
